Campaigning in Solihull

Posted: November 21, 2010 in Uncategorized

Lorely Burt, Lib Dem MP for Solihull is our most important target by far. She is wavering over whether to vote against or abstain and as chairman of the Parliamentary Lib Dems she has real influence.

At the vote on a fee rise will probably be on Monday 29th November, we’ll be going to Solihull a few times over the next few days to gather petition signatures from Solihull residents, get model letters signed, and possible hold an action outside her constituency office.

On Monday 22nd we’ll be going to Solihull to go into some 6th form colleges to gain signatures from the students. This has been arranged with the colleges. Other days we might go are tomorrow (21st) Thursday (25th) and possibly the weekend before the 29th.

Also the SU have created a function on their Website that enables you to send an instant email to one of our 3 local MPs and Lorely. You can send a model email but a editing the text to create a personalised one is most effective.

If you’re interested in taking part then please contact Warwick SU Education officer Sean Ruston: education AT
