Response to the Vice Chancellor of Warwick Uni

Posted: November 24, 2010 in Uncategorized

The VC has expressed that he would like to meet with a representative from within the occupation. We feel that it would be more beneficial if he were to come and speak with the group within the occupation. This is because we feel that a single person is not adequately or fairly equipped to represent the views of all who are currently in occupation.

We would also ask that in keeping with the open nature of this meeting that any student  or staff member (ie. including those who are not currently in the occuapation space) be allowed to come in and participate in this discussion. This is not a request, this is a necessary condition.

We stress our non-violent nature and our genuine desire to take part in a peaceful and democratic negotiation with the Vice-Chancellor.

If you actually do persuade the VC to come and speak to you as a group (which I can’t imagine him doing unless you seem like you really mean business) then send him my love 😉

  2. Fatty says:

Calm the fuck down. It’s not worth, there are SO many more pressing issues out there. Have a think about them and then get out.

  3. Hi Fatty,

We’d love to hear what these ‘pressing issues’ are and what you personally are doing about them. Furthermore we’re intrigued about why you think action on HE cuts and action on these issues are mutually exclusive.

We suspect you’d find that those within the occupation are involved in campaigning for a whole range of causes, probably far more so than the average member of the university community

Please do tell us more about yourself.

    Yours sincerely,

    Warwick Against the Cuts

  4. Mrs Peppy says:

Do you think Fatty is living on the same planet as the rest of us? As someone who was around in the 60s, I’m terrifically proud of your stand. the students at Warwick and elsewhere are an example to us all.
